550 Years University Basel

 

The University of Basel, one of the oldest universities in Europe, celebrated its 550th anniversary in 2010. For this occasion, a design program was developed to position the institution in a new approach to the future.

 

Based on the original logotype created by Karl Gerstner, a communication system was developed to illustrate and make comprehensible the university’s presence on the cities territory.

At the same time, the new design program should convey the future orientation of the university.
