Landis & Gyr

Landis & Gyr, founded in 1896 was the world leader in the manufacturing of mechanical energy metering devices. In the 1980ties this business changed fundamentally by the advent of digital technologies. At this time, the Swiss industrialist, Stephan Schmidheini, took over the company and initiated in short time a radical change process that projected the global company into the electronic age.

 

Against this background and along with a profound change process the revision of the identity and design program had been started. The new communication and design program was seen as part of the restructuring and started with the internal communication. Step by step the entire global presence had been redesigned and implemented.

 

In 1995, the company was sold and later continued as Siemens-Metering AG. Since 2002, the brand Landis+Gyr, through new owners, is back on the market.
